Ballroom Dancing For Couples

This class introduces couples to basic ballroom dance skills that will help them enjoy a night out, or prepare them for special events such as weddings, anniversaries, or social gatherings. The class also helps boost a student’s confidence by teaching them to look great while dancing to styles such as waltz, foxtrot, cha-cha, rumba, and merengue. Requirement: A dancing partner. Class payment is per person.

Join Portland Swing Project for an introduction to East Coast Swing. Students will learn the basic 6-count footwork and some simple, fun moves that will get you out on the dance floor. You will be shown techniques to connect with any partner, and build your confidence dancing to different styles and tempos of music. This is a great class to get your feet wet and have some fun! Online Registration is not available for this course. It may be subject to certain prerequisites or inventory requirements. Charleston, Beginning

Learn the basic 8-count footwork and some simple, fun Charleston moves that will get you out on the dance floor. Students will learn techniques to connect with any partner, and build your confidence dancing to different styles and tempos of music. The teacher will break things down slowly and clearly, give you plenty of practice time, and rotate partners throughout the class so students will have a chance to dance with everyone. For those of you who have taken our Beginning East Coast Swing or Beginning Lindy Hop Class, we'll show you how to transition from those dances in and out of Charleston. For those of you brand new to swing dancing, this is a great class to get your feet wet and have some fun!

Accessible and challenging for all levels and ages, beginner through athlete. Bring sneakers, mat and a water bottle. $5 drop in or $40 for 10 class card can be used for all Emma's M/T/W classes.
