Participants will learn how to lose weight and keep it off. Students will learn how to combine the right foods in a way to help lose weight, gain energy and feel better. You will learn about carbohydrates, protein and fat and how to read food labels. Students will be given healthy recipes that will get you on the track to permanent weight loss in a supportive and fun setting. Online Registration is not available for this course. Students will learn the basic concepts and writing system of the Arabic language, while also focusing on how to use modern Arabic in everyday life. Course topics include greetings, introductions, asking for and giving personal information, and basic vocabulary. The fundamentals of pronunciation will also be introduced.

Students will learn how to introduce themselves and engage in simple conversation on a range of everyday topics. They will also be able to identify spoken words by parts of speech and distinguish between nominal and verbal sentence structures. Students will learn to read and write the complete Arabic alphabet. Proper pronunciation and the development of conversational proficiency are strongly emphasized as a foundation for further learning.

This class introduces couples to basic ballroom dance skills that will help them enjoy a night out, or prepare them for special events such as weddings, anniversaries, or social gatherings. The class also helps boost a student’s confidence by teaching them to look great while dancing to styles such as waltz, foxtrot, cha-cha, rumba, and merengue. Requirement: A dancing partner. Class payment is per person.

Join Portland Swing Project for an introduction to East Coast Swing. Students will learn the basic 6-count footwork and some simple, fun moves that will get you out on the dance floor. You will be shown techniques to connect with any partner, and build your confidence dancing to different styles and tempos of music. This is a great class to get your feet wet and have some fun! Blacksmithing: Mixed Levels

Chalk Painting Kitchen Cabinets/ Furniture

Is there furniture in your home that needs a fresh look? Been dreaming of a new kitchen? Students will learn the simple Royal Chalk 4 step system for painting your furniture. Students will learn how to create any look you desire, vintage, cottage, antiqued, or modern and in any painted color you desire. Wood, MDF, Laminate can all be painted. No experience required! Visit the royalchalk.com site to get an idea of the beauty you can create. Bring a VERY small portable piece of furniture or wooden craft to paint and a one cup sample of flat low-primer paint. We love the Home Depot BEHR Premium Plus flat sheen 8 ounce samples. (Please, no chairs with spindles.)  Wear your painting clothes or an apron and bring a small drop cloth. All materials, chalking supplies and tools will be provided.
