Argentine Tango is an improvised dance, a conversation without words with someone you may not know. This class covers basic concepts to get beginners dancing: connection, musicality, turns, pivots, the cruzada, leading and following, footwork, codes. It also introduces three styles of Tango: tango, vals, and milonga. Please bring shoes with soles that slide. No partner needed.

Join Portland Swing Project for an introduction to Lindy Hop! In the world of "swing dance", there's Charleston, 6-Count Swing and Lindy Hop, which is considered the soul of the dance. Students will learn the basic Lindy Hop footwork and some simple, fun moves that will get you out on the dance floor. You will learn how to connect with any partner, and build your confidence dancing to different styles and tempos of music. Join Portland Swing Project for an introduction to Charleston! We'll teach you the basic 8-count footwork and some simple, fun Charleston moves that will get you out on the dance floor. We’ll show you techniques to connect with any partner, and build your confidence dancing to different styles and tempos of music. We'll break things down slowly and clearly, give you plenty of practice time, and rotate partners throughout the class so you'll have a chance to dance with everyone. For those of you who have taken our Beginning East Coast Swing or Beginning Lindy Hop Class, we'll show you how to transition from those dances in and out of Charleston. For those of you brand new to swing dancing, this is a great class to get your feet wet and have some fun! Yoga For Bigger Bodies

Although students do not have to be a specific size to attend, this class pays special attention to offering accommodations and modifications for individuals with larger bodies. Yoga poses are taught in a manner that respects and celebrates differences and encourages building strength, balance, flexibility, and self-acceptance.
