Community Health Worker Training

NMRC/PAE and Maine Center for Disease Control are partnering to offer this core competency training for community health workers (CHW) in Maine. Trainers will deliver a curriculum developed by the Institute for Public Health Innovation, which meets State of Maine CHW training guidelines. A community health worker is a frontline public health worker who is a trusted member of and understands the community served. The worker is a link between health and social service providers and the community to help community members access services. Class participants must be able to commit to attending all class sessions to receive a certificate of completion. CASAS score of 240 or higher is required.
