Students will become familiar with Word, Excel and PowerPoint, sending and receiving attachments through email and challenges to practice what you’ve learned.

Word

Students begin by learning to create, edit, save, and print documents. They use Word commands to apply formatting, styles, and themes and learn to create numbered and bulleted lists and tables. Students create specialized documents with multiple columns, graphics, and borders and learn to create reports with cover pages, table of contents, headers, footers, page numbers, footnotes, and bibliographies. Students become more efficient with MS Word as they create form letters, print labels and envelopes, and learn to use templates and the Mail Merge feature.

Excel

Keyboarding

Students in this class will develop techniques and skills that are conducive to building keyboarding speed with a high level of accuracy, including the number keypad. Students will also learn correct techniques of hand placement, proper posture, and ways to avoid repetitive motion problems. Beginning students will learn the keyboard and should be able to type 20 to 30 words per minute (WPM) by course end. Students that already know the keyboard will practice timings and progress to 45 WPM.

Medical Coding

Using specialized computer software, students will learn the medical coding skills needed for completing all required documentation according to national coding standards. This involves understanding patient charts and converting the applicable information into a series of alphanumeric codes known as ICD-10-CM or CPT codes. The course also teaches students how to interpret and correct coding errors. Prerequisite: Computer basics and a completed course (or working knowledge of) medical terminology. The price of this course includes a book fee of $140.

Autocad 1

This class will cover drawing commands, editing drawings, line types, use of layers, dimensioning, applying text and plotting of drawings. Quickbooks
