In this two-day class, you’ll be provided expert instruction to start work on a full-color embroidery piece. If you’ve never threaded a needle, or are a beginner looking for a little guidance, we’ll go over how to use a hoop, select threads and fabrics, transfer a design to your fabric, use a variety of stitching techniques, and finish a hoop in a couple of different ways. A hoop and all needed tools and materials will be provided. Some homework is recommended, but not required, between sessions.

Join us for a four-hour visit to the world of handweaving. The class offers the opportunity to weave on a loom that has already been dressed (ready for weaving) for each student. This introduction allows the focus to be on what it feels like and what is seen when you take a shuttle in hand and weave. It is a great class to just try out weaving or for determining whether you want to further explore handweaving. Use of a 4-shaft table loom and weaving tools, plus fibers, are included in the cost. Bring a snack or lunch!

Learn the basics of MIG welding in a safe, encouraging environment. Open to all levels, including complete beginners.

Gain hands-on experience with woodshop machines, turning a rough-sawn piece of hardwood into a cutting board. Beginners welcome.

If you took Factory 3's Intro to Welding class or have some welding experience, you're ready to apply and grow your skills with a small project.

With clothes designed to fall apart and be replaced, learning how to mend your favorite garments keeps them out of the landfills longer while saving you money. You’ll learn the basics of mending, both on woven and knit fabric, by hand stitching or by machine. Hand sewing experience is helpful, but not required. You are encouraged to bring your own item of clothing in need of repair, but fabric for mending samples is provided.
